Blog submission guidelines

Every year we have a Blog Tour as part of Gifted Awareness Week Australia. The purpose of the Blog Tour is to raise awareness of giftedness in the wider community, with the hope that this supports parents and teachers in their advocacy and work.

Our blogs are positive in tone, strengths and solution focused. Blogs will be published on the Gifted Awareness Week Australia website and on social media in the lead up to and during Gifted Awareness Week Australia.

Submissions should:

  • Be related to the current theme of Gifted Awareness Week
  • Be submitted by 30 April for publication in May
  • Be either in written format (250-550 words), or a vlog (video format, less than 5 minutes) or a piece of art (eg. poem, short story, artwork)
  • Be an expression of your personal and/or professional experience of gifted
  • Include complete references and acknowledgement of sources
  • Ensure that any and all images included are from a site such as Pixabay or Unsplash for copyright-free images, or you may submit a personal image you have rights to and permission to use
  • Articles should be of general nature and not promote a business or product.

Submissions will be proof-read by a member of the Gifted Awareness Week Australia Planning Committee and contributors will be contacted before publication if any edits or additional information are required.

We value the understanding, knowledge, experience and insights our gifted community have to share, and our previous Blog Tours have enjoyed both national and international readership.
