Present during Gifted Awareness Week 2026
The Australian Association for the Education of Gifted and Talented (AAEGT) invites you to share your expertise during Gifted Awareness Week.
In 2026 Gifted Awareness Week will run from 18-24 May, with the theme ‘Varied Voices, Shared Future’, and we are currently seeking presenters. This year’s theme aims to give a voice to those gifted students who often remain unidentified or unsupported.
Although we know giftedness occurs across every culture, gender, learning profile and postcode, research shows that gifted students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Indigenous students, girls, those living in rural or remote areas and twice-exceptional learners can be overlooked.
Gifted Awareness Week 2026 is a call to those who see giftedness from different perspectives and lived realities. We welcome submissions from:
- Individuals with lived experience including gifted adults and parents
- Educators, psychologists and allied health professionals
- Researchers.
Suggested topic areas include:
- Culturally and linguistically diverse gifted experiences
- Indigenous gifted perspectives and voices
- Gifted girls or women across the lifespan
- Twice-exceptional learners
- Adults who were, or weren't, identified as gifted at school
- Gifted learners from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.
